Mrs. Fred Winn Interred Thursday
Mrs. Fred C. Winn, 76, one of the pioneer residents of the Castalia Community vicinity passed away April 25, in the Allen Memorial hospital at Waterloo, where she had been a patient for three weeks.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Ossian by the Rev. Louis Martin of Castalia. Burial was in Bloomfield cemetery near Castalia.
As Miss Alma Jane Banning, she was born May 23, 1872, on a farm in Bloomfield township, a daughter of John W. and Catherine Banning.
She was married to Fred C. Winn on October 25, 1891. They lived at Castalia until 1905, when they moved to Ossian to make their home.
Surviving are her husband; two brothers, Herb Banning of Anacortes, Washington, and Vern Banning of Mason City; three sisters, Mrs. Lulu Baker of Castalia, Mrs. Calla Wiltgen of Mason City and Mrs. Neva Dewey of Waterloo; also several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters.
Mrs. Winn was a charter member of the Milwaukee Women's club of the Mason City chapter.
