Harley Fagerlie
Funeral services for Harley Fagerlie were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14 at Aase Haugen Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating.
Interment was in Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Dean Bigalk, Carlton Fagerlie, Jr., Christopher Fagerlie, Duane Hagen, David Halverson, and Clair Steine. Fjelstul Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Harley, 76, died Monday, December 9, 2002 at the Aase Haugen Home where he became a resident on April 26, 1996.
Harley Melangton Fagerlie was born June 3, 1926 in Decorah, the son of Hans Christian and Junetta Magnella (Williams) Fagerlie. He attended Decorah Public Schools.
On September 23, 1972 he married June Stockdale at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah. They were later divorced. He has worked at Nehi Bottling Co., Luther College, the City of Decorah Landfill, the Aase Haugen Home, and Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home.
He was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.
He loved to fish and collected fishing lures. He liked to play Solitaire, Bingo and cards. He was a member of the Sons of Norway. He loved music, plyaing keyboards, organ and accordion and played in the musical group, The Moonlighters, for many years.
He is survived by two stepchildren: Duane Hagen of Waterloo and Rosalie Bigalk of Cresco; five step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; one sister: Adeline Koepp of Cresco and his ex-wife, June Fagerlie of Cresco.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Carlton; and two sisters: Delores Koepp and Margaret Degreve.
