On Wednesday afternoon, June 10th, at the Lutheran church, Rev. Rasmussen of Mabel officiating, occurred the marriage of Miss Mary Christine Johnson, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Johnson, and Mr. Theodore Lassen. Promptly at three o’clock to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin, played by Mrs. Rasmussen, the bridal party marched to the later. The bridesmaids were Miss Lucy Johnson, sister of the bride, and Miss Ruth Darrington. Both were attired in pink and carried pink roses. John Johnson, brother of the bride, and Clarence Rolfshus, served as ushers, Little Hazel Burreson, dressed in white, acted as ring bearer. The bride, beautifully attired in white messaline, with draped chiffon and chiffon wedding veil, carried a lovely bouquet of bride’s roses. The groom wore the conventional black. The church was elegantly decorated in roses, with ferns, the pink and white color scheme predominating. After the ceremony, the wedding party and several guests repaired to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, where the reception was held. The wedding dinner was served in a tent. The evening reception which was more especially attended by the young people, was somewhat marred by the rain, which made it impossible to dance in the bowery as had been planned. After supper, however, the young people drove to the hall, where dancing was the pastime for the rest of the evening. Ice cream and cake were served at the hall. At an early hour the guests departed amid best wishes for the happy couple, all feeling that they had spent a pleasant evening. The bride has resided in the community with her parents for several years and has endeared herself to all. The groom, a prosperous farmer, is a young man of sterling integrity and worth. All join in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life. On Friday the 12h, the wedding party autoed to Decorah to have their pictures taken, and on Saturday the 13th, Mr. and Mrs. Larren{sic} departed via Mabel for their future home near Glencoe, Minn.
