Became Ossian Man’s Bride.
[New Hampton Gazette, Oct. 8.]
Last evening at 8 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Brown, took place the marriage of Miss Mildred Brown to Mr. Clare Gilbert of Ossian, Iowa, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. J. A. Eakin, pastor of the Congregational church. The bride was gowned in white wool. The bridesmaid was Miss Hazel Gilbert, sister of the groom. Mr. Archie Bernatz of Ossian was best man. The couple left for Minneapolis to pass their honeymoon and will be at home in Ossian, where Mr. Gilbert is station agent for the C, M & St. Paul railway.
The bride is among our brightest and most talented young ladies. She has been a teacher in the rural schools and is also accomplished in stenography, having until recently been engaged as a stenographer in Cedar Rapids. She has many friends who will wish her every happiness in the new relations. The groom is spoken of as a young man of the highest character, and worthy of the estimable lady he has won for his bride.
Among the out-of-town guests were the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Gilbert, and daughter Floy of Ossian.
