November Weddings.
At 8 p. m. last Wednesday Nov. 14, 1906, at the First Baptist church of Rossville, occurred the marriage of Mr. Chas. L. Child of this city to Miss Phoebe Barlow of Rossville. The church was beautifully decorated with evergreens and chrysanthemums. Miss Kathryn Colsch played the wed{d}ing march, the very impressive ceremony being performed by Rev. S. D. Holden of Strawberry Point. Following congratulations, refreshments were served. The bride was very becomingly dressed in white and carried bridal roses. She was accompanied by Mrs. Chas. Colsch of Waukon as matron of honor and Miss Florence Child of Decorah as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Mr. Chas. Colsch and Mr. James Barlow. Miss Barlow is the only daughter of Mr. John Barlow, residing just north of Rossville, a young lady of excellent character and qualities and will be greatly missed from her large circle of friends. Mr. Child is well known throughout the community as an industrious, intelligent young man, and it is the wish of all friends and acquaintances that their wedded life be a long and happy one. They were recipients of many useful and handsome presents and a reception was given in their honor at the Child home in Decorah Saturday evening. Their future home will be on his father’s farm three miles northwest of town. X.
