Married in California.
A pleasant rumor recently wafted eastward by a zephyr from the Golden State was confirmed last Saturday by the following item clipped from the Pasadena Daily Star of the l5th inst.:
The marriage of Mr. LeRoy Leonard and Miss Ella A. Escher, of Philadelphia, was solemnized at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Krauser, corner Colorado and Wilson avenue, this morning at half-past nine o’clock, Rev. Wm. M. Jones officiating.
The wedding was a very quiet, unostentatious affair, and the decorations were of a simple character, for the pretty home could have received no elaborate touches without spoiling its original artistic finishings. Those who witnessed the ceremonies were all members of immediate families of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard. The bride was married in her traveling suit and the happy pair left immediately for a short tour of Southern California and they may extend their travels into Old Mexico. Mr. Leonard is the popular successor to J. L. Crilly in the book and stationary business here, and during his short business career in Pasadena has won the confidence and good will of of{sic} business men and public. His bride is a young lady of many personal charms and accomplishments.
The popularity that the groom enjoyed in Decorah as he grew to manhood is still his and many old friends join his new ones in warm congratulations and good wishes.
