Married at Waverly.
The Waverly Independent of last week contained the following notice of the marriage of a young lady who was known a few years ago as a little girl in Decorah. Many friends will join in the good wishes which the Independent expresses in closing this notice:—
There was a modest but very pretty wedding in town Wednesday evening Nov. 17, at 8 o'clock. W. Victor Dove and Mae A. Mitchell were married at the home of the bride’s father, Mr. M. G. Mitchell in the third ward. The parlors were handsomely decorated with plants and the choicest flowers of the season. Mr. Ed. Richards was best man, Miss Carrie Mitchell was the bridesmaid, the bride was given away by her father and Rev. J. E. Brereton, of the Congregational, in a happy yet impressive manner, tied the nuptial knot, in the presence of forty invited guests. The bride and groom received the congratulations of the company, and then all present partook of the good things which the most skilful cooks prepared for the occasion. The good young people received many valuable, useful and ornamental presents, such as come very handy when young people start in business for themselves. Mr. and Mrs. Dove went at once to their new home on the farm one mile southwest of Waverly Junction.
