Hymen’s Bonds.
There came to our desk Tuesday a copy of the Sheridan, Wyo., Post, which contained the following notice. It concerns a young man who was born in Decorah and who still retains a wide circle of friends and acquaintances here:
The wedding at the Congregational church last week Wednesday, when Mr. H. G. Valleau, of Alliance, Neb., and Miss Hortense Easton, of this city, were made one was as happy an occasion of the kind as ever it was our fortune to attend. The church auditorium with its colored lights and its decorations of evergreen branches made a fitting place for the nuptials. At 5 o’clock in the afternoon the bridal party marched to the altar to the organ music played by Prof. Green and there, by impressive ceremony conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. D. Bostwlck, the vows were taken and the couple declared husband and wife. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party, composed of the bride and groom, Misses Coffeen, Stevens and Valleau, Messrs. Nutt, Foley and Gavin, with Pastor Bostwlck and wife, repaired to the home of the bride’s mother, where a sumptuous and elegant dinner was served. At 8 o'clock an informal reception was held when the married pair received the hearty congratulations of their many friends. The presents received by the couple were many and rich, betokening the high esteem in which they are held. On Thursday's east bound train the bridal pair started for Iowa and other eastern points for a month’s visit, after which they will return to Alliance, Neb., their future home.
Mr. and Mrs. Valleau were the guests of Postville friends and relatives last week.
