Silver Wedding Anniversary.
On January 1st a large company of friends and neighbors of Luther Reed and wife, of Hesper township, descended upon them in a most surprising manner and took possession of their home. The occasion was the silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Reed’s marriage and the invaders not only brought viands sufficient to feed a small multitude but when they departed left a handsome silver tea service which will always remind the recipients of the esteem in which they are held by their friends. The presentation speech was made by Rev. Wm. Cummings. Every one present had a most enjoyable time, and were glad of the opportunity which afforded them so much pleasure. A. N. Vance and son and A. L. and W. F. Abbey, of Decorah, were among those who attended.
