Twenty-five Years Ago,
"Last Sunday morning W. T. Symonds called up Ben Bear and asked him if he remembered where he was twenty-five years ago that day. The prompt reply was “Yes, sir. I was on my way to New York to buy the first stock of goods that I brought to Decorah.” Mr. Symonds was reminded of the fact because the same day he was going over into Clayton county to complete the formation of a partnership with a young lady that has lasted ever since, and which Mr. and Mrs. Symond’s friends hope may continue on until they are able to celebrate their golden anniversary.
