A Cerro Gordo Wedding.
The writer takes the liberty of sending this write-up to the REPUBLICAN, thinking it will be of interest to its many readers, as one of the subjects was once a resident of Winnesheik Co., having lived in the Centennial church neighborhood in his boyhood days.
On New Year’s day at the residence of the bride’s parents near Cartersville, Cerro Gordo Co., Iowa, occurred the marriage of Floyd A. Matheson, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Matheson, and Miss Minnie Trevett, oldest child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Trevett. At high noon the happy couple, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. James O. Weitgenant, marched to the parlor where Rev. Cleveland waited and delivered those solemn words which made their joyful hearts beat as one. After congratulations all proceeded to the dining room where a most bounteous repast was served in honor of the occasion. The bride was attired in a handsome gown of blue satin and the groom wore conventional black. These young people are highly respected in the community where they reside, and their many friends join in wishing them a long, prosperous and happy wedded life.
At present they are enjoying a short honeymoon in Winnesheik county, visiting the Nicholsons, at Ossian, and at H. Logsdon's and C. Birdsell’s in Decorah. W.
