On Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 12 o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Moore, occurred the marriage of their eldest daughter Mary to David Sloan. After the ceremony and hearty congratulations of about 75 friends a bounteous dinner was served. Many valuable presents were left which, when in their new home in Kansas, will remind them of their many friends in Kendallville and vicinity. Miss Moore is one of Fremont township’s most successful teachers and has many friends, while Mr. Sloan, who a number of years ago resided near old Elliota,, Minn., and is highly spoken of, is now a farmer near {?}enda, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Sloan left on the evening train Wednesday for a visit of a few day a with relatives in Illinois and Indiana, then will return to Kendallville for a few days before leaving for their home in Kansas. They have the best wishes of a host of friends.

Transcriber’s Note: The groom’s last name is spelled two different ways.
