Castalia’s old time merchant, Mr. A. W. Kramer, and his good wife, this week enjoy the privilege of passing into the second half-century of wedded life. It is too much to hope their future will spread over such a long period, but the REPUBLICAN hopes that whatever may be awarded to them may be years of comfort in gracefully growing old together.

To-morrow (Wednesday) will be fifty years since Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Kramer were united in marriage. A long time ago it had been planned by the children to have a family reunion and a golden wedding on the occasion, but since Mr. and Mrs. Thomas’ departure for the Orient the plan was abandoned. It is expected however that General Manager of the S{?}, Ed. Pennington, his son and wife will be in town and Mr. Pennington’s private car to-morrow, and who, with Mrs. Alice Clark already here will celebrate the event. That Mr. and Mrs. Kramer may live to enjoy many more wedding anniversaries is our earnest wish.
