A Pretty Wedding-
At the home of the bride’s parents Mr. and Mrs. James Lester near Kendalvllle, on Tuesday afternoon August 1,1899 in the presence of the immediate relatives and a few particular friends of the contracting parties occured{sic} the marriage of their eldest daughter Ida, with Fred E. Todd, Rev. O. H. Holmes officiating.
The groom was supported by Mr. Chas. Lemon, the bride by Miss Nellie Webster; constituting a quarto of as fine looking young people as ever stood at the marriage altar. After the marriage a bountiful supper was served in the spacious dining room. The married couple held a reception at the home of the groom at which were some fifty guests from among the young friends of the married parties.
The guests at the wedding were. Mrs. R. B. Armstrong and daughter Carrie, of Sacramento California, Miss Hattie Webster of Chicago, Miss Grace Webster, Mrs. Mahaffy from Canton Minn. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Todd Mrs. E. J. Todd, and Mrs. E. M. Salisbury and Miss Ella Todd of Salem S. D. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barnes and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barnes.
The wedding presents were numerous, valuable and sensible, and in parr as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barnes, a berry set; Ella Todd, ½ dozen napkins; Mrs. T. J. Riley Salem S. D., Silver berry-spoon; Mrs. Wm. Webster and daughter Hattie, a table spread; Chas. Lemon, water set; Lillie Lester 1 dozen tumblers; Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong of California, bedroom set; Mr. and Mrs. Salisburv and Mrs. Ed. Todd, rocker; Mr. and Mrs. John C. Todd, center table; Mr. and Mrs. James Lester, dinnerset; Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Norton, bedspread, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Bowers, 1 dozen napkins; Nellie and Grace Webster, photograph holder; Nellie Lester, oake plate; Dolly Lester, pair of towels; Luella Lester, paper holder; Stanley Lester, egg-beater; Mrs. Eliza Todd, embroidered centerpiece; Mrs. Geo. Lester Wanaukee Wis., ½ dozen napkins; Mr. and Mrs. Geo, E. Todd Minneapolis, silver butter-knife and sugar-spoon, Mrs. Mahaffy with Raymond and Harry, Canton Minn., wash bowl and pitcher.
The following presents were from the young people at the evening reception: Amos Elliot, silver spoon; Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Eddy, silver butter knife and sugar spoon; Belle and Mabel Brown, china fruit-dish; Wm. Reuter, ½ dozen silver spoons; Wm. And Earle Trouten, four towels; Harvy Pollit, silver sugar spoon; Alson and Edna Daskam and Peoer Hammervold set silver knives and forks; Nellie and Edna Burton and Cora Nelson, silver meat fork; Mr. and Mrs. Greenhalgh and Roy, silver meat-fork; Kelsie Clark set of flat-irons; Nettie and Samuel More, china rosebowl; John, Davy and Minnie Easler, silver pickle dish; Laura and Edie Fifield, coina tin-tray and hair-pin reciever;{sic} Sophia and August Solto, water set.
