A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hager on Tuesday, June 18, at 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon, when their youngest daughter, Betty, was united in marriage with James Slaughter of McGregor. Rev. Wilton Sinning, former minister of the Community church here, performed the ceremony in the presence of the immediate members of the two contracting families, after which a wedding supper was served. The couple will live in McGregor where the bridegroom is employed.

Betty Hager Marries James Slaughter June 18

Miss Betty Hager, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hager of Postville, became the bride of Jimmy L. Slaughter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Slaughter of McGregor, on Tuesday of last week. The ceremony was performed in the home of the bride's parents at three o'clock in the afternoon.

Attending the couple were Miss Bernice Hager, sister of the bride, and Alto Dahlstrom.

A wedding dinner was served at the Hager home after the ceremony to 100 relatives and friends, and in the evening a reception was held for the couple. A wedding shower and dance is also being planned for the couple at the White Springs ballroom near McGregor for the evening of July 10.

The bridegroom was recently discharged from the army after more than 3½ years in service in the South Pacific.

The couple will live in McGregor where Mr. Slaughter is employed as a mechanic in his father's shop.
