PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

James n was born in the state of North Caroline, February 20, 1813, and when a young man he went to Ohio and then to Michigan. In the year 1854 he with his family came to Hesper. He hired Joseph Griswold to build him a home in the village, where they lived for many years, but later left Hesper and went to the Pacific coast.
