I have a piece of an old "crazy quilt" that includes a ribbon (much deteriorated) that has the words, Forest City, Iowa, and 8 to 12 '91.
There are a few other letters but nothing that
I can put together to form anything. The other leters are P(or)Flax This came from my grandmother's house and she often talked
about going to Forest City. She lived in Elgin, Iowa. There were either relatives or friends living in Forest City. She even mentioned a boy-
friend from Forest City and the memory of turning down his marriage proposal. I interviewed her when she was 83 years old.
I would be interested in why she or someone in the family had this ribbon and what it represented. Thanks.
