Judy Lawson, 61, of Thompson, Iowa, died on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.

A daughter of Richard L. and Betty (Wibben) Countryman, Judy was born on July 4, 1956, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Titonka High School in 1974. In 1979, she married David Price. To their union, two sons, Adam and Andy, were born. Judy and David later divorced. Judy, then, married Harold Swenson in 1992. He, however, died in 2007. On September 13, 2008, Judy married Leonard Lawson. They were, currently, residing in Thompson, Iowa.

Judy worked at Exceptional Opportunities early on and then as a CNA for many care centers and hospitals through the years in the area. She, then, went to work at Fleetguard in security until she retired.

Known for making stocking hats that she gave to local churches and homeless shelters for the needy. Judy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She had a big heart and loved all her family. Moreover, she, especially, cherished the times she spent with them. She, also, loved woodworking, cooking, and baking for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Judy is survived by her husband, Leonard, of Thompson; her children: Sara Beyer; Misty (Todd) Juveland, of Forest City; Andrew, Larry (Jennifer), Randy, and Travis (Laurie) Lawson; and Adam (Kate), of Leland, and Andy (Dayna) Price, of Lakota; and Brian (Renae) Swenson; her grandchildren: Mariah and Malaki Beyer; Kelsi and Kaden Holt; Johanna and Annika Juveland; Michael, Landon, Layton, Jase, and Keagen Lawson; Benjamin Price and Bjorn; Miranda Rodriguez; and Darian and Tyler Swenson; and her siblings: Richard and Denny Countryman and Penny Peterson; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold Swenson, in 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 2, 2017, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, with James Fank officiating. A visitation will be held one hour before the services at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will take place at the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed the Judy Lawson memorial fund in care of the family.
