September 13, 1958 - November 24, 2015

Maralyn Ann Anderson, 57, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City after a long and courageous journey with cancer.

A daughter of Lester and Phyllis (Luther) Rogness, Maralyn was born on September 13, 1958, in Forest City. She attended Forest City Schools, graduating in May of 1977. On March 5, 1978, she married Rodney “Tuff” Anderson. They, subsequently, had two children, Tim and Frank Anderson.

Maralyn worked at Winnebago for twenty-four years before having to retire because of her health. A member of the Pilot Knob Lutheran Church, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maralyn is survived by her two sons, Tim (Mara) Anderson, of Clear Lake, and Frank (Emily) Anderson, of Marion, Iowa; five grandchildren, Brynn, Gavin, Elijah, Grace, and Owen Anderson; two sisters, Suzie Mead, of Mason City, and Diane Rogness, of Coralville; a brother-in-law, Tom Nemmers, of Garner; her nieces and nephews: Eric (Troy) Nemmers; Cassandra (Chad) Chadwick, and their son Charlie; Robert (Samantha), Brent, and Dan Mead; Cassie Rogness, and her son, Joey; and Stephanie Nemmers.

Maralyn was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ellen Nemmers; and her brother, Mervin Rogness.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Pilot Knob Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Snitzer officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel in Forest City. Inurnment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials, may be directed to the Winnebago County Food Bank.
