Throughout his adult life, he remained a member of Salem Lutheran Church, serving on various church boards and as Sunday school superintendent in the 1980s.

Mark graduated from Lake Mills High School on May 26th, 1970. Afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Army and reported to Fort Lewis, Washington, for basic training.

On April 17th, 1971, Mark married his high school sweetheart and queen, Kathy Hagen, while on leave from the army. In July 1971, Kathy joined Mark overseas in Heilbronn, Germany, where Mark was stationed and worked as a Master Pershing Professional. They lived there until April 1973. Two daughters, Allison and Lindsay, followed later. Mark, then, attended NIACC and Mankato State University. Currently employed at Rembrandt Enterprises, he spent his entire career working in the local grain industry.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball in his earlier years, collecting antiques, and taking family trips up North. The family, also, vacationed at Yellowstone National Park which Mark loved for its natural beauty and the thrill of spotting wild animals. In addition, he loved spending time with his devoted wife of forty-three years, his children, and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Kathy; his three children, Jason (Jennifer) Chose, and their daughter, Lydia, of Polk City, Iowa; Allison (Daniel) Rice, and their children, Jackson and Jolie, of Lake Mills; and Lindsay (Fabian) McCord, and their son, Griffin, of Lake Mills; his siblings, Connie Doscher, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Dale Chose, of Lake Mills; his mother- and father-in-law, Vernon and Carole Hagen, of Lake Mills; his brothers-in-law, Steven (Sue) Hagen, of Rudyard, Michigan, and Russell (Lenora) Hagen, of Victor, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Hallie Hagen, of New Ulm, Minnesota, Gail Reitz, of Billings, Montana, and Jane Syltie (Walt), of Brookings, South Dakota; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Rita Chose, and his brother-in-law, Alan Hagen.

He will be greatly missed.
