Fannie Janssen
June 21, 1918 - September 17, 2014Fannie Janssen, 96, of Buffalo Center, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City.
Fannie was born on June 21, 1918, at Buffalo Center, Iowa, to Meindert and Christina Smidt.
She was known as an extremely caring and hardworking homemaker who wanted to do for others more than herself.
Fannie is survived by her son, Gary, and his wife, Rosemary Janssen, of Mason City; her daughter-in-law, Janice Janssen, of Lake Mills; her granddaughters, Jodi (Jason) Cagle, of Texas, and Jill (Todd) Thoreson, of Lake Mills; and her great grandchildren, Colton, Connor, Makenzie, and Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, in 1994; her sons, Marvin and David; and her grandson, Rorey.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the First Reformed Church, Buffalo Center, with Pastor Bill Peake officiating. Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at church.
