Senora I. Jenson, age 98, of Forest City, died on Thursday, January 26, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.

Senora Irene Jenson was born in Leland, Iowa, on March 28, 1907, the daughter of Michael and Julia (Brackey) Anderson. Baptized and confirmed at Winnebago Lutheran Church, she received her education in rural Leland schools.

After she married Joseph Jenson, the couple began farming near Wells, Minnesota. In 1931, they moved to a farm in Ellington Township near Forest City, Iowa. In 1937, they moved to Forest City where Senora worked for the Forest City Bakery and at Forest City Produce.

After her husband passed away in 1960, Senora moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Lutheran Hospital for many years. At different times in her life, she made her home with her son, Stanley, and for several years, she cared for an aging aunt in Charles City. After retiring, Senora returned to Forest City, entering the Good Samaritan Center in 1981. She died there on January 26, 2006, at the age of 98 years.

Senora is survived by her son, Stanley Jenson, and his wife, Florence, of Marietta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Murray (Elaine) Jenson and Colleen (Gary) Cato; five great-grandchildren: Sean, Jeanette, Christina, Rebecca, and Brooks; and a great-great-grandson, Gavin Porter.

Senora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; and a brother, Gordon Anderson.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006, at 10:30 AM at the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City, Rev. Lee Laaveg, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2006, at the funeral home.
