Edythe Juliet Bredeson
(June 13, 1915 - February 25, 2007)Edythe J. Bredeson, 91, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa.
Edythe Juliet Bredeson, the daughter of Lewis and Selma (Haugen) Fjelstad, was born on June 13, 1915, on a farm South of Lake Mills. Baptized and confirmed at Winnebago Lutheran, she completed her education at a country school south of Lake Mills. On Sept. 8, 1935, she married Olaf Bredeson, and to this union, two sons were born: Ronald and Terry. They lived in the Rake area for several years where she was employed at the Rake Produce and Olaf worked as a carpenter. They, later, moved to Lake Mills, and Edythe worked at Larson Mfg. and the Lake Mills Graphic.
A member of the legion auxiliary for over fifty years, she also volunteered at the Lake Mills Care Center for many years. Well known for her home made donuts and lefse, she also enjoyed knitting afghans and other handmade items for the church bazaar.
Edythe is survived by her sons, Ronald Bredeson, and his wife, Audrey, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and Terry Bredeson, and his wife, Ardyth, of Forest City; one brother, Roger Fjelstad (Dorothy), of Lake Mills; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Bredeson, of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren: Gary Bredeson and Amy Fossum, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Renae Weber, of Hastings, Minnesota, Scot Bredeson, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Randy Bredeson, of Fertile, Iowa; and ten great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister.
FUNERAL SERVICES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO 2:00 PM, SATURDAY, AT LAKE MILLS EVANGELICAL CHURCH.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Lake Mills Evangelical Synod Lutheran Church with Rev. Karl Hermanson officiating. Interment will be at the Synod Cemetery in Lake Mills. Family suggests that memorial be made to Lake Mills Synod Church or the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa.
