Jerry Allen Thompson
(January 7, 1943 - November 2, 2011)Jerry Allen Thompson, son of Alfred and Mildred Olson Thompson, was born on January 7, 1943, in Forest City, Iowa, and departed this life on November 2, 2011, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years.
Early in life, Jerry made a profession of faith in Christ and became a member of the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of God. He loved the Lord and treasured the memories made with his church family.
On September 29, 1979, he married Deborah Lortz, the love of his life. Prior to his passing, they shared thirty-two wonderful years together.
Jerry joined the United States Navy and proudly served our country for three and a half years. Dedicated to the future successes of our country, he remained proud of his fellow soldiers.
Jerry made a career in the food industry, working in the restaurant and catering business for many years. He took great pride in his customer service skills and appreciated the many families he served over the years.
Jerry enjoyed playing games on the computer and watching television. He also loved spending time with his pets. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with his church friends and loving family.
He is survived by his wife Deborah; one sister, Jean Peterson, and her husband, Allen, of Leland, Iowa; as well as other relatives and many dear friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dwayne Thompson.
Jerry was a wonderful husband, cherished brother, and loyal friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him through the years will miss his smile as they cherish the memories. He will be greatly missed.
