Lyman Washington Taylor
July 7, 1850 - March 25, 1922Lyman Washington Taylor was born July 7, 1850, in Oneida County, New York, and came to Forest City with his people in the spring of 1870. They located on a farm northwest of town, now occupied by J. J. Taylor, where they resided until the death of his mother, Mrs. William Taylor, in 1893. After which he has farmed in various places. The past years he had been making his home with his brother J. J. Taylor and with other relatives.
Deceased left two weeks ago for a visit with relatives in the western part of the state and it was while returning home that he died. He arrived at Britt Friday [March 24, 1922] and as he did not want to travel at night, he secured a room and during the night was taken seriously ill. J. J. Taylor was called to his bedside, and he was in an unconscious condition until the end came. The cause was uric acid poisoning.
Funeral services were held at the Congretional Church Tuesday [March 28, 1922], Rev. Suckow conducting the services and interment was made in the Oakwood Cemetery.
He is survived by two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Mary Hunt, of Madison, Kansas, J. J. Taylor, of Forest City, Mrs. Leora Peters, of Canwood, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Harvey Taylor of Thompson, Iowa. Mr. Taylor has many friends who were grieved to hear of his death.
