Sandra Boeckholt
(January 1, 1940 - December 2, 2011)

Sandra Mae Boeckholt, 71, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011.

She was born January 1, 1940, at Blue Earth, Minnesota, the daughter of Melvin and Pearl Twait Fjetland. She was raised in Iowa and graduated from high school at Forest City, Iowa. She attended and graduated from nursing school in Mason City, Iowa.

Sandra married Robert Boeckholt in 1960 at Leland, Iowa. They moved to Topeka in 1982. In Topeka, Sandra was a registered nurse working first at St. Francis Hospital and later at the VA Medical Center. She retired from the VA in 1999.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Topeka, Kansas; her daughter, Brenda Sleep, also of Topeka, Kansas; her mother, Pearl Fjetland, of Forest City, Iowa, and three grandchildren, Douglas, Andrew, and Cody.

She was preceded in death by her dad and a son, Brent, who passed away in 1981.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service was held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011, at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka, Kansas. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa, at 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 8. 2011. The Winter Funeral Home assisted with the local arrangements.
