Anna L. Skinner
January 5, 1827 - December 1, 1895

Mrs. D. E. Skinner died at her home in this city on Sunday last [December 1, 1895]. Parnlysis [sic] and a complication of other diseases, together with advanced age, was the cause of her death.

Anna L. Swan was born in Hartford, Connecticut, January 5, 1827. She was married to Mr. D. H. Skinner in 1848. In 1865 Mr. and Mrs. Skinner became residence of Forest City and have since made their home here. Mrs. Skinner was widely known as a very charitable lady, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in distress, and was exceptionally kind and helpful in cases of sickness. It seemed to be her mission in life to minister in life to minister [sic] to those in affliction and so long as her health permitted she was always to be found at the bedside of the sick or giving words of consolation to the bereaved.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Skinner leaves a family of six children to mourn her loss. Her children who survive her are: Egbert Skinner, of Minot, North Dakota; Dr. Frank Skinner, of Glenwood, Minnesota; Albert Skinner, of Wells, Minnesota; Mrs. Maggie Larson, of Britt, Iowa; and W. E. Skinner and Mrs. J. E. Howard of this city. To all these are extended the sincere sympathy of the entire community.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church, Rev. J. D. Mason conducting the last sad rites, and the remains were interred in Oakwood cemetery.
