George Otterson
(ca. 1867- November 13, 1895)The sad news was received from Minneapolis last Wednesday morning [November 13, 1895] that Geo. Otterson, a former Forest City boy, and son of our townsman O. G. Otterson, was dead. His death was caused by peritonitis and he had been sick only a short time. George was a young man on the sunny side of thirty years, a printer by trade and one of the best known workmen in that line in Minneapolis. He was foreman of the Commercial Printing Co.’s job rooms and a member of Typographical Union No. 42. He was also an officer in the Minnesota Nation Guard. Mr. Otterson was at one time an employee in the INDEPENDENT office and is still well remembered by many friends here. He had been a resident of Minneapolis about eight years.
