March 2, 1820 - June 28, 1895At the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Mahoney, in this city on Friday, June 28, 1895, Mrs. Julietta W. Barmore; age 75 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Julietta Waters Barmore was born in New York, March 2, 1820. Was married to John A. Barmore in 1839 in Chautauqua county, N. Y. In 1844 they removed to Wisconsin and came to Iowa in 1863. Mrs. Barmore had been a resident of Forest City for the past seventeen years. Her Husband died in April 1891, since which time she has made her home with her daughter.
Mrs. Barmore’s ancestry dates back to the Pilgrim Fathers. She was a descendent of Thomas Wright of Dedham, Mass., who left England in 1635 on account of religious persecutions. She was a consistent Christian from childhood and was a member of the M.E. Church for over forty years.
The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at the Am. M. E. church, Revs. A. A Marcy and J. D. Mason conducting the services after which the remains were laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery.
