May 18, 1937 - February 16, 2019

Melva Agnes Indvik, Age 81, of Forest City, Iowa, passed away February 16, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.

Born at home in Scarville, Iowa, on May 18, 1937, to John and Agnes Johnson, Melva, subsequently, graduated from Forest City High School. On June 23, 1978, she married Lowell Indvik. A co-founder of WeeArc, she served clients for several years before going to work at the Graham Shop, a women’s apparel store. Next, after earning a business degree from Kaplan Business School, she worked in various capacities at the Agape Christian Center followed by her tenure at and retirement from Mosaic.

A long-time member of Zion Lutheran in Thompson, she, later, joined Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church in Forest City. She loved family, friends, her cat Chole, fashion, playing cards, watching sports and her beloved TV shows including the Big Bang Theory, Wheel of Fortune, the Price is Right and HGTV. Deeply devoted to her church and her faith in God, she served in multiple capacities including as a member of the Ladies Aide Society.

Melva is survived by her three sons: Mark (Nancy), of Warba, Minnesota, Tim (Annette), of Champlin, Minnesota, and Dan (Deb) Carlson, of Forest City; five grandchildren: Benjamin, Brooke (Clint), and Matthew (Carly) Carlson; Brian (Nicole) Hagy; and Josh (Jeanette) McCartney; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ilene; her brother, Jerome; and most recently by her beloved husband, Lowell

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 A.M. and then a lunch on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church, 546 West M Street, Forest City, Iowa, with Rev. Wayne Halvorson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or to a charity of the donor's choice.
