March 6, 1952 - February 21, 2019Patrick J. Hill, 66, of Algona, died on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Kossuth Regional Center in Algona, Iowa.
A son of Francis V. and Margaret E. (McMullen) Hill, Patrick was born on March 6, 1952, in Sigourney, Iowa.
During his life, he lived at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, Duncan Heights, New Hampton, The Harmony House in Waterloo, Eagle Grove, and finally, for the last fifteen months, with his foster parents, Darryl and Rose Hanson, in Algona, Iowa. Very much involved with the Algona Senior Citizen Center, he enjoyed volunteering his time helping with Meals on Wheels.
Pat loved to fish and was looking forward to another year camping, coloring in his coloring books, decorating cookies, watching people, and eating fried chicken, one of his favorite foods. He touched many lives during his sixty-six years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Patrick is survived by his brothers, Steven (Cindy) Hill, of Iowa Falls, and Larry Hill, of Leland; his sister, Janice (Tim) Purchase, of Bellevue, Nebraska; his niece, Sarah (Rob) Stubbs, of Colfax; his nephews, Luke and Matt Hill, of Johnston, Andrew (Maurel) Purchase, of Lemoore, California, Pete (Carly) Purchase, of Meridian, Idaho, and Zachary (Patti) Purchase, of Omaha, Nebraska; and his foster parents, Daryl and Rose Hanson, of Algona, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Jon Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, with Pastor Doug Farrell of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Township Cemetery. Visitation will take place for one hour before the service at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to MOSAIC.
