He worked as an adjuster for Winnebago Mutual Insurance, Lake Mills, Iowa, and then at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home.

Arlen loved his family, friends, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Moreover, he enjoyed playing golf every Thursday at 1:16 p.m. with his beloved foursome! Described by many as a great guy and a good man, “Pickles” was kind, sweet, and caring. He was, always, smiling.
