Steve E. Rochleau
February 13, 1953 - October 4, 2018Surrounded by his loving family, Stephen Eugene Rochleau, 65, of Leland, died on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Lake Mills Care Center.
A son of Clarence Eugene and Gloria Ruth (Crawford) Rochleau, Steve was born on February 13, 1953, in Algona, Iowa. He attended Titonka Public Schools until the 4th grade and then graduated from Algona High School. In high school, he participated in 4-H and FFA.
On July 8, 1972, Steve married Deborah Raye Pecoy in Algona. They lived in the Algona area before moving to the Forest City/Leland area forty-one years ago. After buying Eddy’s Glass and Door, he ran it successfully until he became ill. At that time, his son, Chad, took over the business.
Steve had a passion for horses. Indeed, he raised and showed horses from 1985-2004, taking them to many places. Moreover, he loved the time he spent with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steve is survived by his wife, Deborah Rochleau, of Leland; his son, Chad (Deanna) Rochleau, of Albert Lea, Minnesota; his daughter, Cari (Dave, Jr.) Bolie, of Forest City; his grandchildren: Andrew and Levi Rochleau, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Shelby Hoeft, of Leland, Shaelyn Hoeft, of Fort Dodge, and Shayne Hoeft, of Forest City, and her special friend, Chanse Berneman, of Belmond, Iowa; his brother, Larry (Shirley) Rochleau, of Algona; and his sister, Vicki (Mark) Bierstedt, also of Algona; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Clarence Rochleau, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 8, 2018, at the Winnebago Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor Bill Peters officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
