William "Billy" Dean Anderson
June 23, 1953 - June 15, 2018

William Dean Anderson, known to most as Billy, had the most courageous smile and love of life. His passion for the outdoors and his friends and family was spectacular. He may have left us physically, but he will, always, remain in our hearts. With his family by his side, he entered on his next journey of life on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City.

William Dean Anderson, a son of Frank and Marjorie (Benson) Anderson, was born on June 23, 1953, in Forest City. After completing the requirments at the Forest City High School, he graduated in 1971. Next, he attended Waldorf College before going to work for the United States Post Office. After thirty-seven years later, he went to work for the Rice Lake Golf and Country Club.

An avid outdoorsman known for his competitive spirit, Billy loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl, and watch University of Iowa sports. He was also a pro with using duct tape. He will be, dearly, missed by all who knew and loved him.

Billy is survived by his wife, Vicki Anderson, of Forest City; his sons, Chad (Stephanie) Willis, of Raymore, Missouri, and Brent (Megan) Willis, of Klemme, Iowa, and their children, Ambrea and Cooper; his daughter, Stephanie (Matt Halverson) Willis, of Longmont, Colorado; his mother, Marjorie Anderson, of Forest City; his brothers: Jerry (Vonnie), of Lake Mills, Iowa, Tom, of Largo, Florida, and Rodney (Sharon) Anderson, of Forest City; his sister, Marcia (Rod) Korte, of Grand Junction, Colorado; and his in-laws, Wayne (Jean) Cooper, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and their daughter, Kimberly; as well as by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved dog Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Anderson; his niece, Alyssa Korte; his parents-in-law, William and Muriel Cooper; and his brother in-law, Dennis Cooper.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa. A birthday/memorial celebration will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday June 23, 2018, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Pastor Bill Peters of Winnebago Lutheran Church officiating.
