Daniel J. Stinehart, 66, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Friday morning, August 11, 2017, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.

Daniel Joseph Stinehart was born on December 15, 1950, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Eugene & Mary (Folkert) Stinehart. In 1969, he graduated from Blooming Prairie High School, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. In 1972, he married Linda Odson. Three children were, subsequently, born to this union--Wayne, Julie, and Michael. Dan and Linda, later, divorced. Then, on May 17, 1980, he married Phyllis Feldmann. One child, Travis, was born to this union.

Dan worked for Farmstead (Wilson's/Farmland) for thirty years until it burned down. He, later, worked at Byerly's in Lake Mills for a brief time and then at Golden Oval/Rembrandt until he retired on March 31, 2013. After retiring, he worked part-time at Casey's. He enjoyed visiting the casino, riding his motorcycle, and occasionally golfing with his youngest son, Travis.

Dan is survived by children: Wayne Stinehart, of Northwood, Iowa, Julie (Dan) Stuart, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Mike (Agnes) Stinehart, of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Travis (Jodie) Stinehart, of Lake Mills, Iowa; his stepchildren: Michelle (Tim) Rasmussen, of Leland, Iowa, and Robert (Teresa) Feldmann, of Williamsburg, Iowa; his siblings: Bill Stinehart, of Shakopee, Minnesota, Kathleen (John) Meyer, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Karen (Curt) Oeltjenbruns, of Claremont, Minnesota; his grandchildren: Brandi, Abby, Kimberly, GraceLynn, Kenny, Marissa, MaKayla, Summeer, Dominic, Jeannie, Sara, Christina, Robert, Anthony, Jaimyan, Jonathyn, Justin, Jessica, and Jordan; and four great grandchildren with another one due soon; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Stinehart; and his sister, Sandra Stinehart; his parents; and his wife, Phyllis, in 2012.

Private family funeral services for Daniel Joseph Stinehart of Lake Mills, Iowa, will be held Monday, August 14, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, with Pastor Matthew Hundley officiating. Public visitation will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Memorials are preferred to the family or to a charity of the giver's choice.
