April 12, 1932 - November 23, 2016Sharon Ann Richards, 84, of Forest City, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Sharon Ann Richards, a daughter of Ernest and Bertha (Shepherd) Godfredson, was born on April 12, 1932, in Algona, Iowa. She attended Algona Schools, graduating in 1951. On January 22, 1953, she married Kenneth Richards. Three children, Bill, Ed and Lori, were born to their union.
In her free time, Sharon liked knitting, watching the Chicago Cubs, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family and friends. Sharon, also, enjoyed her membership in the Birthday Club and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sharon is survived by her children, Ed (Joann) Richards, of Forest City, Lori (Kevin) Schuver, of Laporte, Minnesota; two grandsons, Justin (Brittany) and Jordan (Sarah) Schuver, all of Laporte, Minnesota; four great-grandchildren, Lily, Jax, Avery, and Drake; and a sister, Carol Groen, of Algona, Iowa, as well as by many other relatives.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Richards, in 1982; her son, Bill Richards, in 1976; and her brother, Dick Godfredson.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St., Forest City, Iowa 50436. A gathering of family and friends will assemble one hour before the services at the funeral home on Saturday. A private family inurnment of cremains will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Algona, Iowa. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Sharon Ann Richards memorial fund in care of the family.
