Pauline E. Eisenhauer
May 5, 1924 - August 27, 2016

Pauline E. Eisenhauer, of Buffalo Center, died on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the age of 92 at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

Pauline Edna Eisenhauer, a daughter of William (Gertie Janssen) Boehm, was born in rural Lakota, Iowa, on May 5, 1924. She attended country school in the Lakota area through the eighth grade.

On July 3, 1943, Pauline married Harold August Eisenhauer in Santa Ana, California. While living in California, Pauline worked in an airplane factory as a riveter. After Harold was deployed overseas, Pauline moved back to Mason City to be closer to family. There, she worked in a restaurant. After Harold returned from the war, they moved back to Buffalo Center. She kept busy helping her husband on the farm, taking care of their children, and doing interior painting and putting up wallpaper for local residents. She, even, traveled to South Carolina to paint for her brother.

An incredible woman, Pauline had a quick wit and heart of gold. She possessed an unprecedented work ethic and drive to serve others. A selfless, kind, considerate, compassionate, generous, open handed, and hard working person, she was never afraid of any kind of work. Indeed, she became the glue that held the family together.

Pauline belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center where she served on the Woman’s Fellowship Committee and as a deaconess.

She is survived by her children, Royce (Carolyn) Eisenhauer, of Kennedy, New York, Sharon (John) Giesman, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Rodney (Linda) Eisenhauer, of Appleton, Wisconsin, Steven (Suzanne) Eisenhauer, of Leroy, Minnesota, and Bruce (Chris) Eisenhauer, of Greeley, Colorado; her grandchildren: Cynthia (Ben) Dontje; David, Eric (Susan), and Samantha Eisenhauer; Edward and Jeffrey (Vanessa) Giesman; Amy (Ryan) Long; and Tina (Jason) Kozisek, Tara (Ryan) Nelson; her grand-daughter-in-law, Rana Eisenhauer; her great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jenna, and Nicholas Dontje; Brock, Hayes, Henry, and Nora Eisenhauer; Kylie Giesman; Anastazia and August Kozisek; Frank, Louie, and Stella Long; and Calvin and Margaret Nelson; her siblings, Fred Boehm, of Wisconsin, John Boehm, of Illinois, Otto (Dorothy) Boehm, of Buffalo Center, Robert (Gracile) Boehm, of Michigan, and Rosie (Harvey) Nerdig, of Buffalo Center; her sisters-in-law, Elaine Boehm, of Buffalo Center, and JoAnn Boehm, of South Carolina; and her half-sister, Carole Schmidt, of Colorado, as well as by many other family and friends.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Eisenhauer, in 2002; her grandson, Adam Eisenhauer; her brothers, Carl (Gretchen), George, and Dennis Boehm; her sister, Irene (Ed) Winter; her sisters-in-law, Jean and Juanita Boehm; her brother-in-law, Don Schmidt; and her father- and mother-in-law, August (Helen) Eisenhauer.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016, with Reverend Brad Devries officiating at the First Congregational Church, Buffalo Center.
