Dot (Elaine) Anderson, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

Dot (Simon) Anderson was born on March 8, 1932, to Erbin D. and Anna (Skogen) Simon in Lake Mills, where she, also, attended school. Dot married Marvin Anderson on February 5, 1950. The couple had two children, Terry and Linda.

Dot had a big compassionate heart and enjoyed giving to both her family and others. Moreover, she, always, had a deep love for babies and little children. Wherever she went, she had to meet every baby or small child near her.

The Andersons farmed for over fifty years. During this time, Dot baked the most delicious pies and made wonderful homemade meals for her family in addition to helping Marvin on the farm. She, especially, liked teaching classes to the special needs adults in Albert Lea.

Dot loved the Lord with a deep faith. In addition, she taught Sunday school for many years to those of all ages, even the teenagers.

She felt blessed with her family. She and Marvin spent over twenty winters in Arizona together, and she, always, cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Anderson, of Lake Mills; two children, her son, Terry (Deb) Anderson, of New River, Arizona, and her daughter Linda (Stuart) Dankers, of Prior Lake, Minnesota; her grandsons, Shannon (fiancée Tammy) Anderson, and his children, Asa (girlfriend Shelby) Anderson and Ariel Anderson; Jeremy (Shannah) Anderson, and their children Kase and Kamrin Anderson, all of Arizona; and Kristopher amd Kody Dankers, both of Prior Lake, Minnesota; and her sister-in-law, Rosie Simon, of Albert Lea, Minnesota; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Sonny Simon; her sister and her husband. Lila (Owen) Edwin; her father- and mother-in-law, Olaf and Tina Anderson; and two brothers-in-law and their wives, Omar (Harriet) and Luverne (Wilma) Anderson.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Vinje, Iowa, with Pastor Spering Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, May 20, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
