February 15, 1867 - August 2, 1932Mrs. Andrew Nelson died Monday [sic] evening at her home near this city, following a paralytic stroke suffered about noon that day.
Mrs. Betsy H. Nelson was born February 15, 1867 at Skone, Sweden. In 1882 at the age of 15 she came to the U.S. with her parents making her home in Forest City. She has lived here ever since. On November 13, 1886, she was united in marriage to Andrew H. Nelson, also of Forest City. To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. Those living are Mrs. Henry Jenson, Mrs. Melvin Johnson and Mrs. Wilma Bergie, all of Forest City and vicinity also, her beloved husband.
Mrs. Nelson had not been feeling very well for some time, though able to be up and about. About noon Tuesday, August 2, as Mr. Nelson was returning from work, he found her lying in the garden, in a helpless condition, having suffered a stroke.
In childhood she was converted and united with the Baptist church. Services are being held today at the First Baptist church with burial in the church cemetery north of the city.
