A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother, Mavis devoted her time to many activities throughout her life including gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting many baby shawls for her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She loved genealogy and made many presentations regarding her Norwegian ancestors. A skillful cook and baker, she loved to make kringla and lefse for her family as she tried to teach her children the art of making these Norwegian treats. A long time member of Zoar Lutheran Brethren Church and Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, she taught Sunday school until in her 80s and actively participated in the Zoar WMF.
