Helen M. Bolty, 87, of Forest City, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Helen M. Bolty, a daughter of Harry and Bessie (Boyle) Holsclaw, was born on July 7, 1927. She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1945. On January 13, 1946, she married Eugene Bolty in Jackson, Minnesota. Helen and Gene made their home in Estherville, becoming the parents of eight children. She was a homemaker.

In 1980, Helen relocated to Thompson and then moved to Forest City a few years later. In 1983, she began working at Winnebago Industries, retiring fifteen years later at the age of seventy-one. She enjoyed her many friends at Winnebago. Many knew her for the pies she made and shared at pot lucks.

Helen enjoyed watching sports on television, including tennis and golf even though she had never played either herself. Above all an Iowa State fan, she, also, loved the Seattle Seahawks. Moreover, she liked discussing sports with anyone who shared her interest. She found her greatest pleasures, however, during family times with her kids and grandkids.

Because of her failing health, Helen moved to Forest Plaza Assisted Living in March, 2014. After her health further declined, she was transported to Hospice House in Mason City on June 8th and passed away there on June 9th.

Helen is survived by her six children, Al, and his wife, Rita Bolty, of Tucson, Arizona, Paula Fraizer, and her significant other, Curt Cowel, of Forest City, Caryle Johnson, of Renton, Washington, Janet, and her husband, Doug Berhow, of Forest City, Bobbi, and her husband, Rich Honsey, of Forest City, and John Bolty, of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren: Breanna and Tyler Bolty; Abby, Dan, and (Miriam Zimet) Fraizer; Kara (Brien) Heinemann; Lance Hoffman; Andy and Katie Honsey; Sarah (Brett) Lewis; Nicki (Cullen) Mackey; and Ryan (Tonia) Swenson; four great-grandsons; her brother, Bill, and his wife, Rose Holsclaw, of Clinton; and her sister, Mary Evelyn Overholt, of Palm Beach Garden, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; her infant son, Randall; her son, Roger; her sister, Harryett Koenecke Burrell; and a son-in-law, Jay Johnson.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held between 4:00 and 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark St., Forest City. A sharing of memories will begin at 6:00 P.M. A private family inurnment of cremains will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville, Iowa
