April 23, 1939 - May 8, 2015Lloyd L. Frowick, 76, of Norfolk, Nebraska, died on May 8, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Lloyd, a son of Lloyd E. and Lucile (Mathison) Frowick, was born on April 23, 1939, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Raised in Leland, Iowa, he graduated from Forest City High School in Forest City, Iowa. Then, he continued his education at Waldorf College in Forest City before graduating from barber school in Omaha in 1959. Lloyd joined the US Army on October 5, 1961, earning his honorable discharge on October 2, 1964.
On December 27, 1961, Lloyd married Caroline Hintz at Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce, Nebraska. He and Caroline raised three sons: Larry, Gary, and Jerald. Caroline died on March 13, 1998.
Upon moving to Norfolk, Lloyd began his career as a barber at Lloyd’s Barber Shop. In the 1960s, Lloyd, also, operated a barber shop in Meadow Grove. After barbering for fifty-two years, he retired in July of 2014.
Lloyd married Shirley Schulze on June 29, 2003. They enjoyed many years of square dancing. Lloyd, also, enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing golf.
His family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, were the joy of his life.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children and their spouses: Larry and Lisa Frowick, of Tyler, Texas, and Gary and Kim Frowick and Jerald “Jerry” Frowick, all of Norfolk, Nebraska; his step children: Kevin and Michele Schulze, of Gretna, Nebraska, and Rita and Andrew Klug, of Battle Creek, Nebraska; and his sister and her husband, Karen and Dennis Sandersfeld, of Mankato, Minnesota; as well as five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Caroline.
Funeral services for Lloyd L. Frowick, 76, of Norfolk, Nebraska, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Christ Lutheran Church, Reverend Leon Rosenthal officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 16, VFW Post 1644 and the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 700 p.m., at the Home for Funerals.
