FOREST CITY – Keith A. Christensen, 72, of Forest City, formerly of Garner, died on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City.

Keith Allen Christensen, a son of Emil and Dorothy (Keel) Christensen, was born on March 12, 1943, in Forest City. In 1961, he graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School. After attending Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, he went on to Minneapolis Business College. Then, he started a twenty-nine-year career with American Linen Supply Company in Minneapolis, which led him to stops in Topeka, Kansas, and Gulfport, Mississippi, where he retired as general manager.

After he retired, Keith moved back to Iowa to care for his aging parents. A former member and past president of the Garner Rotary Club, he, also, helped deliver meals for Meals on Wheels. In addition, as a volunteer mentor at SCORE, he helped guide new owners of small businesses. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ventura.

Keith enjoyed traveling the world and shared many stories and pictures from his adventures with his family and friends. An avid fisherman, he loved nature and particularly enjoyed bird watching. Keith valued his family and made a point to attend the graduations and weddings of his many nieces and nephews. A loving uncle, brother, dad, grandpa, and friend, he was always the life of the party.

Keith is survived by his three children, Sara (Scott) Wagner, of Carmel, Indiana, Andrew (Majo) Christensen, of Alicante, Spain, and Heidi Weaver (Jamie Sargent), of Castle Rock, Colorado; his grandchildren, Aitana Christensen; Rivera, Olivia and Erik Wagner; and Breckston Sargent; and four brothers, Roger (Sharon) Christensen, of Austin, Minnesota, Dick (Peggy) Christensen, of Spring Hill, Florida, Don (Dotty) Christensen, of Orlando, Florida, and Jim (Julie) Christensen, of Issaquah, Washington; as well as by eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

At his request, his body was cremated, and there will be no services. Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner is in charge of the arrangements.
