GORDON A. BENSON, 85, of Buffalo Center, died on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.

Gordon was born on April 13, 1930, in New Berry, Michigan, to John and Dorothy (Greene) Benson.

On April 25, 1950, he married Evelyn Maki, who passed away on April 12, 2014.

For many years, he worked with road construction and carpentry. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, fishing, and working on cars.

He is survived by his children: Richard (Amy) and Frank, of Titonka, John, of Mason City, Ted (Carmen), of Hamilton, Michigan, Eva Douchette, of Portland, Maine, Jenifer Gordon, of Savannah, Georgia, and Christine Ferrin, of Hamilton, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Bridges, of Michigan.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Robert; and a brother, Billy.

Private memorial services are being planned; his cremains will be scattered in Michigan at a later date.
