Raymond W. Hanna
(December 15, 1926 - February 25, 2015)Surrounded by his family, U.S. Veteran Raymond W. Hanna, 88, of Lake Mills, Iowa, formerly of Emmons, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Raymond Wayne Hanna, a son of Edwin and Lois (Westcott) Hanna, was born on December 15, 1926, in Woden, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Army. On February 14, 1953, he married Betty Hagen in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Raymond worked at the Clear Lake Water Towers for fourteen years and then for Streaters in Albert Lea for thirty-two years. A member of Emmons Lutheran Church and Emmons Louis/Tveite American Legion Post #317, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing, and he loved playing in cribbage tournaments.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his children, Dennis Hanna, Diane (Joel) Duncan, and Douglas (Jenny) Hanna; his grandchildren, Justin Duncan, and his children, Dane and Blake; Jenny (Matt) Hendrickson, and their children, Madison and Preston; and Christian, Nicole, Wesley, and Blake Hanna; his brothers and sisters, Robert Hanna, Darlene Trytten, Gene (Caroyn) Hanna, Donna Loge, and Jimmy (Bev) Hanna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lois; his mother- and father-in-law, Ann and Bert Hagen; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Anelda and Ed Stecker, Lois Hanna, Andy Loge, and Arlo Trytten; and his great-granddaughter, Karissa Joy Hendrickson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, with Pastor Ed Bard from Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery near Emmons, Minnesota, with military rites performed by Emmons Louis/Tveite Post #317.
