(February 1, 1928 - May 7, 2014)Ina O. (Kaasa) Misel, age 86, of Lake Mills, died on Wednesday, May 07, 2014, at the Lake Mills Care Center.
Ina Odella (Kaasa) Misel was born on February 1, 1928, in Worth County, Iowa, a daughter of Oscar C. and Inger T. (Sorbo) Kaasa. Baptized and confirmed at Sion Lutheran Church, she graduated from Lake Mills High School with the “Class of 1945”.
Blessed with three children from her first marriage, Pauline, Danny, and Linda, she lived in Mason City for several years and in Marengo, Iowa, for thirty-two years before moving back home to Lake Mills in 1994 to be close to her sisters, other family members, and close friends.
She greatly valued her family. Indeed, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great joy! An excellent cook, she loved family gatherings.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Historical Society, and Senior Citizens.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Pauline (Daryl) Bennett, of Laurel, Iowa, and Linda (Roger) Rogstad, of Lake Mills, Iowa; her son, Danny (Kathy) Johnson, of Anamosa, Iowa; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Krishna (Brian) Hanson, and their children, Braylon and Kalen, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Jody (Dale) Busch, and their son, Cael, of Waverly, Iowa, Jeffrey (Tracey) Bennett, and their son, John, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jamie Bennett, of Rochester, Minnesota; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Norene (Herbert) Rod, Olga (Palmer) Dahl, and Tony Knutson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, May 12, 2014, at Salem Lutheran Church, 401 S Lake Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, with Pastor Scott Duffus officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church only. Burial will take place at Sion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Northwood, Iowa. Ina’s family suggest that memorials be made to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 – 2nd Street SE, Mason City, Iowa 50401.
