October 10, 1983 - December 21, 2013GOSHEN, INDIANA- Sally Anne Steffensen, 30, of Goshen, Indiana, died unexpectedly following a long illness on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center- North Iowa in Mason City.
Sally Anne Steffensen, a daughter of DeRay and Karen (Eymann) Steffensen, was born on October 10, 1983, at Mason City. Baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Goshen, she attended school in Forest City until 1991 when the family moved to Goshen, Indiana. In 2002, she graduated among the top ten in her class from Goshen High School. She continued her education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she made the Dean's list and joined the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. After college, Sally returned to Goshen and became active in volunteer work in the community and her church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Goshen.
Sally is survived by her parents, DeRay and Karen Steffensen, of Goshen, Indiana; her brother, John Steffensen, also of Goshen, Indiana; and her grandmothers, Mavis Langerud, of Forest City, and Clarine Steffensen, of Lake Mills; as well as by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, John Eymann and DeVere Steffensen; and an aunt, Nancy Monson.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 23, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Goshen, Indiana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. The Petersen Lund Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City.
