FOREST CITY - Chanthy Sichanthongthip, 73, of Forest City, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Chanthy Sichanthongthip, the daughter of Thong and Pong Savath, was born on December 7, 1939, in Luangprabang, Laos. She attended school in Laos. In 1958, she married Kham Sichanthongthip. They lived in Laos until 1986 when her husband, Kham, and oldest son moved to the United States settling in Forest City. Chanthy and some of her children followed in 1988. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, and especially helping to raise her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City.

Chanthy is survived by her husband, Kham, of Forest City; her children, Phouthone (Touen), Singthong (Bouenekong), Sone (Nom), and Bouaphan Sichanthongthip, and Kongngeun (Sengpheth) Ngeuen Sanasinh, all of Forest City; her grandchildren, Anna, Ronald, Anna, Brandon, Tyler, Johnathan, Juliann, Emily, Jasmine, Adrian, and Alita as well as eleven more grandchildren in Laos; three great-grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother also in Laos.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Rev. Rod Hopp officiating. Her body will be cremated following the service. Inurnment will take place in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., on Friday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
