Frances Berg
(October 8, 1911 - December 25, 2013)

Frances Berg, age 102, of Rake, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the Timely Mission Nursing Home.

Frances Jordahl, a daughter of John and Elvina (Thompson) Jordahl, was born on October 8, 1911, on the family farm. She was baptized, confirmed, and maintained a lifelong membership at Zion Lutheran Church.

Frances and Chris Berg married at the Little Brown Church on August 14, 1929; Chris preceded her in death in 1967.

A charter member of the Rake Senior Citizens Club and a dedicated American Legion Auxiliary member, Frances also dearly loved Iowa, strongly supported the Rake community, entertained graciously, and played a good game of bridge.

Frances is survived by her son, Tom (Bev), of St. George, Utah; and her daughter, Tyann (Al) Kuehnast, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her grandchildren: Christine Berg (Peter) Barnecut; Carol Berg (Larry) Gordon; Kaylee and Kevin (Christine) Kuehnast; Daniel, David (Lynette), Randy (Lisa), and Timothy (Sharon) Lohse; and six great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and thirteen brothers and sisters; as well as by her daughter, Sandra Lohse Temple, in 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rake with Pastor Terry Mahnke officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at West Cemetery in Rake.
