Wilma Maxine Harang
(December 3, 1929 - September 7, 2013)

Wilma Harang, age 83, of Lake Mills, died on Saturday, September 07, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

Wilma Maxine (McClain) Harang was born on December 3, 1929, in Forest City, Iowa, to John and Maggie (Anderson) McClain. She attended and graduated from Scarville High School in Scarville, Iowa.

On March 27, 1949, Wilma married Kermit Harang at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. They, subsequently, lived and farmed in rural Joice and the Bristol Township area until the early 1950s after which, they moved south of Rice Lake. During that time, Wilma worked at the hatchery in Hanlontown and Kermit farmed.

In 1956, the family moved into Lake Mills, and when Deluxe/Fleetguard began production in 1958, Wilma was one of the first hired. She worked for Deluxe for over thirty-five years. After retiring, she worked part-time at the Lake Mills Care Center and enjoyed traveling with her friends. For over 60 years, she also very actively participated in American Legion Auxiliary activities.

Wilma is survived by her children, Raymond Harang, of Thompson, Iowa, Renee (John) Matson, of Oldsmar, Florida, Rick (Marlene) Harang, of Leland, Iowa, and Rodney (Sandy) Harang, of Mapleton, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Kristen (Brad) Holtan, Jenna (Jonathan) Grimm, Jay (Teri) Clough, Terry Harrington, Kim Jensen, Britney Hultman, Shawna Matson, Jillian (Nate) Van Epps, Jordan Harang, Nicole Hermanson, and Sabrina Roll; her great-grandchildren, Avery and Delaney Holtan, Kaden, Paisley, and Alannah Van Epps, Sierra and Noah Greenfield, Ava Hermanson, Alexis, Logan, and Mikayla Clough, and Khloe Hultman; a sister, Blanche (Kermit) Grunhovd, of Lake Mills, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Joan Harang, of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Arlene Rauan, of Washington; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kermit; her son, Robert; her grandson, Josh Matson; and her siblings, Eva Kluver, Beulah Brue, Margaret Johnson, Ethel Waage, Velma Halverson, Velva Bang, and William, Johnnie, Austin, George, and Andrew McClain.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating. Burial will take place in Salem Memorial Cemetery, rural Lake Mills. Visitation for Wilma will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
